1. ROSEWILL Mini Tower Computer Case – FBM-01

ROSEWILL Micro ATX Mini Tower Computer Case review

When it comes to sturdy and reliable micro ATX Towers, there’s perhaps only a few that can match up to the Rosewill Micro ATX Computer Case. The Rosewill Mini-tower Computer Case is available in a number of different styles, however, the FBM-01 styles are the most practical yet stylish one. The case is constructed out of steel and plastic which makes the case affordable as well as durable.

The profile of the case is quite compact which means it won’t be a hindrance during your office work. You’ll find that the case is quite simple to use with all I/O ports placed very conveniently at the front. This includes 2 USB 2.0 ports ad well two audio ports. The case ensures you can easily access all these different ports so the connection to all peripherals is quite easy and quick.

Moreover, it includes a 1x120mm front fan as well as a 1 x 80 mm back fan for better airflow and optimizes ventilation for the different electronic parts. Both these fans come pre-installed so you don’t have to worry about installing them.

However, one of the major drawbacks we faced was that the unit was only compatible with ATX cases. It wasn’t as versatile as others. We also noticed that the PCI Unit was sharp and that we couldn’t replace them after removing them. Another drawback was that the fan had no holes to draw the air in.

The Rosewell Micro ATX is best suited for Intel and AMD Systems. With this case, your system will up and running at its peak performance. That is, if you’re okay with only using ATX motherboards.

  • Easily accessible I/O Ports.
  • Dual ventilation systems for better airflow.
  • Sturdy and reliable construction.
  • Compact yet elegant profile.
  • Suited for all Intel and AMD Systems.
  • The small case only compatible with ATX motherboards.
  • PSU is top-mounted.
  • Front fan had poor air intake.
  • The interior looks rather dull.

2. CORSAIR OBSIDIAN Super-Tower Case – 1000D

CORSAIR OBSIDIAN 1000D Super-Tower Case review

If you’re looking for a chicer and gamer style PC Case, then the Corsair Obsidian will be the perfect choice for you! The best part about the Corsair Obsidian is that it can support a number of different motherboards. This means you can use the motherboard you’re most comfortable with, without worrying about compatibility issues. The case can support up to 18 fans which means you can have the best ventilation possible.

There are a number of differently sized bays ranging from 3.25 inches one to different expansion bays. The Case features a large number of ports to ensure that all your possible peripheral devices are properly connected with the computer.

The case is made from steel and aluminum from the inside while the outer case is made from tempered glass. The tempered glass provides a very futuristic look to the whole case. The tower is super tall and comes with a warranty of about 2 years so you can rest assured your investment remains safe.

However, the bigger case is heavier and takes up too much space. Also, we found that the bottom fan had no built-in filter which was a bit of an annoyance. Plus, the optical bay drive cannot be removed, even though not many people use optical drives anymore.
  • A large number of I/O ports.
  • Supports up to 18 fans.
  • Futuristic looking design yet is still durable.
  • Very roomy and can fit many parts and cables in it.
  • Compatible with a number of different motherboards.
  • It can be heavyweight and oversized.
  • Optical Drive Bay cannot be removed.
  • No filters for the bottom fan.

CORSAIR OBSIDIAN Micro-ATX Case - 350D review

If you want the same reliability and durability as the Obsidian 1000D at a more affordable price, then the 350D is perfect for you. The computer case is specifically designed with the aim of helping you build compact top-notch performance systems with all the bells and whistles to boot.

The Micro ATX Case has plenty of room inside the case for liquid CPU Cooling, full-length graphics cards, dual SSDs, dual Hard drives etcetera. The 350D provides you with tool-free access and drive installation to make it easier for you to build your own units.

A remarkable feature is perhaps that you can mount fans at any of the five mounts. The case can easily accommodate two 240 mm radiators so you need not worry about any ventilation problems. The front panel of the CPU is made of brushed Aluminum with an elegant window side panel to allow you to see inside the case.

The size is big enough to accommodate most of the common drivers and parts, yet small enough to easily blend in with your room. However, we did find that the drive cages can come off easily and they tend to move around. In addition, there is no top dust filter so your fans could be sucking in dust rather than expelling it.
  • Superior Expandability with space for liquid cooling systems as well.
  • Easier and quicker drive installation.
  • Durable aluminum.
  • Several different I/O ports.
  • Lots of room for cable management.
  • Drive cages seem a little flimsy.
  • Only compatible with Micro ATX and Mini ITX motherboards.
  • No top dust filter.

4. Rosewill Micro-ATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Rosewill Micro-ATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Another reliable computer case from Rosewill, the Mini tower is perhaps a bit smaller with lesser capacity. However, it is much more affordable and makes for the perfect system in the workplace. We were disappointed at first that you could only use this with an ATX motherboard, however, the other features are so remarkable that you might skip over this hiccup.

The mini tower is equipped with a total of 4 USB Ports at the front of the case. Also included in the front are two audio ports. The front provides better and quicker connectivity and access to all your peripherals. A 120 mm front blue LED Fan as well as a rear 120 mm fan is also included for better ventilation. Along with these are air vents on the side and the front to create an efficient cooling. This means your PC will never run the risk of overheating.

The expandability of the case is commendable with about 5 expansion slots. The bottom space of the case can easily accommodate 2.5 inches or 3.5 inches HDD/SSD for better expandability. The screwless design ensures you can easily install all external and internal devices easily.

We did notice that the side panel tends to be a little flimsy. The fans tend to be a little noisy at times. We also disliked that it was too small to allow for cable management.

All in all, the Rosewill Micro ATX Mini Tower Computer case is perfect for those looking for a small yet reasonable case.

  • Small and compact in size.
  • Better expandability with multiple installation choices.
  • An efficient cooling system with side and front air vents.
  • Front access to connect all peripherals.
  • Screw less design for easier installation.
  • The side panel can be a little flimsy.
  • Noisy fans.
  • No cable management.

5. Thermaltake Versa SPCC – H15 – Micro ATX Computer Chassis

Thermaltake Versa SPCC - H15 - Micro ATX Computer Chassis review

Another mini Tower Computer chassis, the Thermaltake Versa H15 is a sturdy and roomy case for home-computer builders and gamers. The chassis is ideal for Intel and AMD PC Systems. The case provides the users with ample ventilation opportunities with the top panel built specifically to optimize heat ventilation and more efficient cooling. Furthermore, it embraces a cleanable air filter and a perforated mesh bezel to keep the system dust free. The case is equipped with a rear 1×120 mm rear turbofan as well as a 2×120 intake fan.

The case provides users with the option of including a liquid cooling system as well as long graphics cards. This is because despite being compact, it still provides ample space for the installation of different computer parts. Furthermore, the case hosts a couple of different options to allow you to expand your options and come up with high-end solutions.

It offers front access connectivity to peripheral devices through a USB 2.0 and a USB 3.0 Port as well as a couple of audio ports. The case supports an easy cable management system by hiding the cables behind the motherboard tray. So, no more tangled wiring problems!

However, we had to remove the back plate just to remove the internal drives, which was quite a nuisance as we had access to only one external bay. We also found the aluminum to be easily bent.
  • Efficient cable management system.
  • Dust free efficient cooling systems.
  • A lot of space for better expandability.
  • Compact and sleek profile.
  • Front access to all peripherals.
  • Internal drive bays require back plate removal.
  • Only one external access bay.
  • Thin aluminum.

6. Corsair Carbide Micro-ATX Case 88R

Corsair Carbide Micro-ATX Case review

Another futuristic and modern design from Corsair, the Corsair Carbide 88R Micro-ATX Case is a professional chassis suitable for both home and offices. The Mid Tower features all the modern specs such as SSD compatibility, USB 3.0 and loads of room for the full-size graphics card. Included at the front are two 3.0 USB ports for easier accessibility and to allow you to connect high-speed peripherals.

The case has sufficient SSD Support that allows you to fix them on the in-built mounts for high performance 2.5 inches SSD drives. This allows for infinite customization and expandability. The efficient cooling system ensures direct airflow to the top GPU. The direct airflow allows for longer gaming times and more reliable cooling. Speaking of cooling, the device comes with a total of five fan mounts and even includes one 120 mm fan.

You can also easily install 3.5 inches and 5.25 inches drive as opening up the case requires no tools. The screws in the side panels are thumbscrews so you can easily access all parts inside. In addition to that, it includes a flush mounted side panel window so you can keep a check on your system.

We found the cable management system to be quite insufficient to handle bigger power cables. Also, most users agree with us that mounting the SSD takes time and effort. Whereas other models had multiple USB ports (3.0 and 2.0). This one had merely one 3.0 port.
  • Tool-free access to all parts.
  • Front access for connecting peripherals.
  • Direct Airflow to GPU for more efficient cooling.
  • Side panel window for checking the system.
  • Suitable for both office and home use.
  • Only one USB 3.0 port.
  • It cannot fit bigger power supplies.
  • SSD difficult to mount.

7. NZXT Mid-Tower Computer Case H700i

NZXT Mid-Tower Computer Case review

The NZXT H700i is the perfect case for those who love showcasing their hand-built computer system. With a stylish red rim surrounding the side window panel, the case gives off elegant and modern vibes. What’s the most unique thing about this case is that it has a built-in Smart Device that plays the same role as digital controllers to help you easily monitor.

Also included are 3 fan channels as well as lighting channel that allows you to customize your system to the core. The chassis offers up to 40% noise reduction levels as well. You don’t have to worry about cooling noises and can easily concentrate on your work or game. The lighting can be easily customized through the Smart Device and includes 9 presets, 3 dynamic as well as 1 sync mode. The fans can be easily controlled and built.

The best part is perhaps the dual position cable management bar and the cable routing kit that is included behind the motherboard tray. This makes for clean and neat wiring without any mess or tangles. The Velcro straps ensure you can easily change these when you desire.

A major disappointment was that the software, which made this so unique, turned out to be pretty buggy. Also, our hands slipped a little and the corner glass chipped at the slightest of hits. The LEDs were too bright and distracting. We almost screeched when we found there was nothing to shut them off. Oh well, nothing a little black paint cant fix!
  • 40% noise reduction.
  • Beautiful and elegant look.
  • Synced with a smart device that acts as a digital controller.
  • Fans and lighting can be adjusted to your preference.
  • Efficient cable management system.
  • The CAM software can be a little buggy.
  • Tempered glass is easy to break.
  • The LEDs are too bright.

8. GOLDEN FIELD Z7 Computer Case Micro ATX Gaming Case

GOLDEN FIELD Z7 Computer Case review

The Golden Field Z7 case is yet another futuristic gaming case that will help you display all your hard work in the best manner possible. The key thing to note here is the cooling capabilities of this case. The Chassis has enough room for about 8 fans, 3 at the front, 2 at the top, 1 at the rear and 2 at the bottom. You can use a liquid cooling system for your CPU or a fan as well.

The Chassis has multiple I/O ports at the top front portion. These include a 3.5 mm audio port, a microphone port, a USB 2.0 port, a USB 3.0 port as well a power switch and a reset one. The Golden Field comes with a modern and compact design that can still support expandability. It includes a tempered glass side panel as well to help you display your hard work.

The Case can store about two 3.5 inch drive trays and two 2.5 inch SSDs This allows you to mix and match these drivers according to your preferences. The Golden Field Case is perfect for gamers and home computer builders who wish for extra interior space without compromising on the compactness and portability.

Also note that the panels can be sharp so we had to navigate very carefully. We loved that the case was ultraweight, but a single touch seemed to misalign the panels. The front air flow was terrible in our opinion. Definitely some design changes needed in that department!
  • Supports fans and liquid cooling systems as well.
  • Multiple I/O ports.
  • Supports a number of motherboards.
  • Can store a large number of drive trays and SSDs.
  • Compact yet elegant design.
  • The panels can be sharp.
  • An ultralight case can be misaligned easily.
  • Terrible front fan design.

choosing the Best Micro ATX Case

When buying a Micro ATX Case, these are the following factors that you need to consider:

1. Durability

One of the first factors you need to consider is the durability of the material. The casing is going to use some crucial and fragile parts. You need to ensure it can support them and would be sturdy enough to not transfer shock or motion.

2. Accessibility

Another factor to note is that the ports in these cases should be easy to access. These include all kinds of ports. Also, the side panels should be removed easily for quick access to any parts.

3. Form

The Cases are available in a number of forms mainly full-towers, mid-towers, and mini-towers. Depending on the amount of drive bays you want and the compactness you need, you can easily decide which form of the case you should go for.

5. Cooling Efficiency

It’s not just fans and liquid cooling systems that increase the cooling efficiency of a system. Vents from all sides as well as the material of the case itself can drastically decrease overheating.

6. Motherboard Trays

Most users have a specific preference for the position fo their motherboard tray. Some like it at the top, while others like it at the bottom. SO, check for your preference.

7. Fan Mounts

To install fans, you need to ensure that the case you get has sufficient fan mounts. This will enable you to install them and keep the system cool and dust-free. Their sizes often range from 80 mm to 200 mm.

8. I/O ports

Another point you need to note is the amount of I/O ports it supplies to you. Most come with USB and Audio In/Out ports. Ensure that you have as many as you need.
